The floriculture industry was the only significant agricultural group in Michigan that did not have a statewide organization representing its interests. The new Michigan Floriculture Growers Council now represents the interests of floriculture growers in Michigan that collectively produce crops with a wholesale value >$370 million each year.

• Keeping Michigan floriculture profitable and sustainable.
• Representing our industry on state and national issues

The Council was officially established on October 1, 2005 as a 501C5 organization, with dues deductible as a business expense. The first membership year began on January 1, 2006.


 

Executive Director Gale Arent longtime Michigan State University Greenhouse Agent and Associate Director Emeritus of MSU Extension  is the Council’s first Executive Director.
